Will I still be able to use all my weapons and vehicles if my character changes careers to be a Tank Crew, Pilot or Paratrooper?
Not all of them. Some weapons cannot be equipped by certain army branches.
Pilots and Tank Crewmen are restricted from equipping rifles or LMGs.
However they remain able to use SMGs and pistols, as well as grenades
Paratroopers can also use semi-auto rifles, but not bolt-actions.
Tip: keep an eye on your ammo loadout. Certain careers have fewer equipment points and cannot carry as much extra ammo.
So if you are using an SMG with maximum ammo as an Infantryman, you will want to reduce the number of ammo packs you carry when you become a Tanker.
Most vehicles are restricted to specific career paths:
- only Infantry can deploy trucks, APCs and mobile AA
- only Recons can deploy armored cars (M8 Greyhound, SdKfz 222, BA-6, BA-64)
- only Tankers can equip tanks and only Pilots can equip planes
What happens to the weapons and vehicles that I cannot equip?
The weapons you cannot use will become unavailable, but they will remain visible in your inventory.
The vehicles you cannot equip will become hidden (example: you can’t browse trucks and APCs if you’re a Tanker) but will remain in your inventory, should you choose to switch back to your original army branch.
Can I transfer the weapons/vehicles I don’t use to a different Soldier?
No. Each character has his own experience points and unlocks the ability to use new equipment on an individual basis.
This is why we recommend leveling up multiple Soldiers and specializing them, instead of changing careers back and forth with the same Soldier.
There is one exception: when a character is promoted to a General and taken out of the action, his equipment is then transferred to the Equipment Depot.
