It’s not always obvious when and how you can use vehicles in a battle. Here are some useful tips:
Not all battles have vehicles in them
To be able to deploy vehicles, you need two things: the vehicle must be equipped on your soldier and the battle must contain the right vehicle resources.
If you let the Matchmaker algorithm assign you to a mission (by clicking “Combat!”), you will sometimes land in a battle where all the Assault Teams present are foot units, which is to say that they do not contain any vehicles.
The following units move on foot: Guard, Infantry and Recon (click here to learn more about the other Assault Team types).
Your Infantry and Recon characters can fight on foot, so they will be sent into missions even if there are no trucks, motorcycles, half-tracks or armored cars for them to use.
Click on friendly Control Points to see your Deployment Options
Once you’re inside the Deploy menu, you will see different icons representing the available vehicles.
The vehicles you can use are determined by the resources deployed on each Attack Line by your faction.
NOTE: Armor, planes and personnel carriers like the M3A1 half-track and the SdKfz 250 can only be deployed on Access Points, not on regular Control Points.
Regeneration and deploying as a passenger
There is a regeneration rate for vehicles; only so many can be deployed from a given Access Point in a certain amount of time.
When the maximum number of vehicles has been deployed for a certain type, you will need to wait for more to become ready.
While new vehicles are being prepared, you can still deploy as a passenger on another player’s vehicle. If it’s a tank, a truck or a motorcycle, you have 10 seconds to join from the moment the vehicle is deployed. If it’s a half-track, you can always choose to deploy on it with your Infantry characters.
Check the Access Points for vehicle resources
If you manually join a battle from the War Map, you will get a Battle Briefing screen with the available resources displayed as icons. This way you can see what vehicles you will be able to use before entering the combat.
When you enter the Action Game, the same information will be visible in the Deploy menu. Before deploying, just mouse over the various Access Points controlled by your faction (blue lozenge) and the enemy (red lozenge). If you hover your mouse pointer over these Access Points, you will see the available resources.
